Unbelievable Pictures Of People Who Clearly Skipped The Self-Reflection Step
Some people's mistakes can be hilarious when they're discovered. And since most of them missed one important detail that could have helped them avoid their problems in the first place, it's hard not to feel like they should've checked themselves before they wrecked themselves.
Let's see them in action...
Was this person raised in a barn?
Look, it's certainly true that plane trips can get tedious and uncomfortable. The longer the flight is, the more true that is. That doesn't mean there's a point where all etiquette evaporates, and people can just plop their bare feet at nose level.
So many travelers dread sitting next to a crying baby more than anything, but at least the baby doesn't know any better. Unless this person was raised by wolves, they should know that the cramped conditions of economy class are not improved by some jerk's foot odor.
If they do this again, there's no hope for them
For those wondering how somebody managed to park this car between all these shopping carts, the answer is that they didn't. Instead, they managed to make a mistake big enough to seemingly alienate everyone who works here, judging by the effort this must have taken.
What actually happened was that this person decided to not only park in a no parking zone, but in a place where the employees of this supermarket clearly store their shopping carts. Naturally, that meant that boxing it in was as easy as doing their jobs and pretending it wasn't there. A brainiac parking decision like this deserves a hard lesson.
Their work was cheap for a reason
The sad part of this photo is that the person who desperately needs to check themselves here clearly doesn't agree, as they figure they can be long gone by the time anyone notices what they messed up. Unless they face legal consequences, they probably won't see any reason to stop doing this on purpose.
That's unfortunate because functional exhaust fans on houses are dearly important. Without them, some houses can not only get hotter in the attic, but more humid and lacking a necessary layer of cool air. With a fake one like this, an outbreak of mold and potentially even decaying insulation are serious possibilities. If this was the cheapest service there was, that's why.
She's not giving life the finger. It's the other way around
Given how perfectly this mishap seemed to localize itself here, one could be forgiven for thinking this dye job was intentional. That's especially true when considering which of this woman's fingers just happened to be covered in the stuff.
However, it turns out that she simply wasn't aware that one of the gloves she used had broken at the middle finger until she had finished coloring her hair its radiant blue. That's going to be awkward to explain to everyone. Hopefully, she doesn't have tickets for the Blue Man Group anytime soon.
What possesses someone to do this?
Although there are certainly times when it's hard not to be too lazy to do the dishes, this has to be the breaking point for that line of thought. There's no way that it's worth it to subject oneself to this kind of dining experience.
Just because the package says the word "sanitary" on it, that doesn't mean it's a good idea to eat off of period pads. Even taking the fact that that's not their intended purpose aside, a paper towel would do the same job for significantly less money.
There's a reason they only do this in the movies
Apparently, this truck's owner had a bad experience getting rear-ended by someone who tailgated them. But despite them admitting they were "slightly" rear-ended, it apparently threw them into enough of a frenzy to start their villain origin story.
Since real life is not Ben Hur or Grease, people aren't allowed to do this. In all likelihood, this person will eventually end up with a court order to remove this, and that's if they're lucky. Hopefully, they won't get a chance to enact their bizarre revenge on the world by then.
It doesn't look like it's working
It must be pretty hot in this neighborhood, as that's usually a reason to leave out a little water bowl for any dogs in the area who might need some hydration. Yet, whoever left it here made it clear that, as far as they were concerned, the seagulls were on their own.
That said, it's unclear who they were hoping to stop with this other than considerate people who happen to have pet seagulls. Even if the seagulls could read this, everything about their existing respect for other people's food says they'd ignore it.
Does anyone want some trash? It's only two dollars!
It's unlikely that anyone needs to hear this, but this store isn't offering a dynamo deal on used food from a random restaurant. Instead, a lot had to happen for this picture to come to life, for better or for worse.
Someone had to waltz into this store with their leftovers and not only eat them in the aisles but finish doing so after they'd already committed to abandoning the box on the shelf. Couldn't they at least have put the chicken bone back in the box? However, if they're already being lazy and inconsiderate, what difference does it really make?
Chicken wings don't usually have feet
After Reddit user AlienArachnid ordered some chicken wings from Popeyes, most of them wouldn't really arouse any suspicion. However, one of them is so obviously wrong as to put most people off the whole meal. After all, that is clearly a foot.
Understandably, this led the uploader to worry that Popeyes had served them a deep-fried chick. However, they were also completely rebuffed when they asked for a refund in the wake of the discovery. Perhaps it was because it still counts as chicken?
This only makes sense if a kid did it
For those morbidly curious about the ingredients in this used van's little hatch, it's apparently applesauce, chicken nugget pieces, and lemonade that had been poured over a Barbie doll. And since Reddit user aCUriousManiac only discovered this after buying the van and hunting down the strange smell they noticed, it had probably been sitting here for a while.
The only sensible way this could have happened was for the previous owner's kid to dump all of this stuff in the little armrest hatch without them noticing. Otherwise, this is just an act of unbridled lunacy. If the owner thought aCUriousManiac should have paid more for the van, this is a weirdly passive-aggressive way to say that.
They may not get away with it for long
As Reddit user Amypon3 explained, a garbage truck backed into her bedroom window about 45 minutes before this was taken, which not only wrecked the window but also messed up the brickwork above it. That's going to be expensive to fix, and it's hard to know who was even responsible for it.
At least, it may be. If this was a government garbage truck, the truck was tracked by GPS, and thus, the city should be able to find out who didn't bother to look before they backed up. If it was a private waste management company, the driver responsible may get off scot-free until they show a pattern of doing it. That said, it's not like that seems unlikely at this rate.
Hopefully, they don't wonder where the customers are
Marketing practices have been misleading for longer than anyone reading this has been alive, but some little tricks are so inherently sketchy that they scare people away before they even step in the door. And that seems like a likely fate for this car lot.
After all, many people find it hard to trust used cars at the best of times. But if there's a term more untrustworthy than "brand new used cars," it hasn't been found yet. Well, other than when restaurants describe their food as "fresh frozen."
Even the dog knows this guy's a jerk
While there are all sorts of aggravating things that other drivers can do on the road, it's also true that the type to blow through red lights doesn't usually park any better than they drive. It's one thing not to leave much space for the next car over, but it's quite another thing to take up the whole sidewalk.
For pedestrians, it's a lot like seeing someone double park but without the satisfying part where they get a ticket. In this case, this disrespect is so obvious that even a dog can only look back in disbelief about it. Get a load of this guy, indeed, Rover.
The important thing is that he tried
Reddit user akopec had intended to give his friend a haircut so the guy could save money but it seems his request was a little too ambitious. The friend wanted a fade and the uploader had never done one before but tried it anyway.
Unsurprisingly, it turned out that he wasn't quite a natural and things didn't work out as planned. Fortunately, commenters came through with some helpful advice and encouraged him that it wasn't as hard of a fix as he thought. That's as wholesome as it gets here, folks!
Ah yes, the most brilliant of strategies
When a fire breaks out, people in the area need access to every way to control it as quickly as possible. Naturally, this means that one building's owner decided to lock them up in a cage. That way, they can sit here nice and snug while everyone evacuates the burning building.
Seriously, do they think that fire extinguishers are just some kind of good luck charms that prevent fires by existing? How was this a thought that anyone had and didn't immediately dismiss as one of their worst ideas ever?
They probably should have tried another rock
Although they didn't specify who it was from, Reddit user haslait mentioned receiving this sympathy card after their father passed away. For the most part, it's appropriately solemn and loving and encourages holding onto happy, peaceful memories about the dearly departed.
From the looks of it, the sender's children also painted some rocks in sweet little homemade gifts. Once again, one casts a hopeful eye to a hard future by saying, "Love grows." Unfortunately, it seems the other kid didn't understand the assignment because haslait would likely not describe this as the "Best day ever."
Imagine their faces when someone points this out
Sometimes, it's so easy to focus on what one wants to say that it leads to a kind of tunnel vision. That's why it's always good to show work to someone else before it's presented publicly. After all, it seems unlikely that happened here.
Sure, the message of the sign, as read in full, is a sensible plea to obey traffic laws for the safety of everyone. However, someone who only notices the biggest words here would have to wonder why the sign is telling them to "follow someone home." Oops.
Nobody is born knowing how to check themselves
Understandably, Reddit user NeitherBackground484 was pretty disappointed to see that some kid in their neighborhood had decided to take a pen and doodle all over their car. Based on the fact that the results are just random lines, it's likely there wasn't any real malice behind it.
Perhaps in time, this youngster will learn that other people's property is not their canvas. The real concern is the fact that they were able to do this unsupervised in the first place. Depending on whether the parents are mortified or defensive when they find out what happened, they might be the ones who need to check themselves.
At least her heart was in the right place
When this woman posted a picture of herself at the beach holding a fish in her hands, she included a caption that stated, "I look crazy, but I saved a baby shark." Unfortunately, the context for this isn't exactly clear, but it's nice to hear she did something nice for a fish if it's true.
However, somebody couldn't help but notice that she wasn't exactly a marine biologist. But the mistake she made was just too coincidentally beautiful, given the fish's true identity. As the commenter said, "You got catfished."
It happens to the best of us
Although it's hard not to feel foolish when faced with a situation like this, it also doesn't feel fair to blame the uploader here. For some reason, there seems to be some unwritten law of the universe that a lost item will always find the most inopportune times to reappear. It seems the world is as big of a prankster as the people who live in it.
As for what specifically happened here, Reddit user dragonboy2734 explained that he had lost his wallet three days before taking this photo. After some fruitless searching in as many places as he could think of, he gave up and went through the arduous process of re-ordering all of his cards. Of course, it was only after all of that happened that he found the wallet peeking out from under the arm of his chair. Womp womp.
The comment section wasn't very sympathetic
When Reddit user masterKick440 posted this picture, all they had to say about it was "winter bicycling." And on the one hand, sure. It's always a waiting game to see whether a given day is safe for cycling, and temperatures can turn on a dime.
On the other hand, that doesn't entirely mean they can blame the weather for the fact that their bike is sitting in a muddy puddle. As one commenter pointed out, that mud may have been frozen when they chose to park the bike on it, but it was still clearly mud.
The last thing anybody wants to see
Although there are many people waiting for packages who probably felt a chill run down their spine upon seeing this, it's not actually clear who is to blame for this. Since this package was discovered submerged like this by an uninvolved party, it's unclear exactly what happened here.
If a delivery driver chose to quit in a dramatic fashion by tossing this into the pond, then they needed to check themselves and realize the customer doesn't decide their working conditions. But if this went down like some people suspect and the wind blew the package away, it depends on whether this has happened before. If so, the customer should have expected it. If not, they can only impotently shake their fists at Mother Nature.
It may look survivable, but it seems it wasn't
At some point, it's a rite of passage to leave electronics in one's pocket and do laundry, only to realize the terrible mistake when it's too late. It's rare for people to need to check themselves so literally, but a little self-pat down can prevent a lot of problems like this.
Although some well-meaning commenters told Tato7x to dry it in rice after their headphones went through the wash, they reported that it was sadly too late. This isn't the first time this has happened to those headphones, but it seems it will be the last.
Someone's a little confused about how this works
Let's be honest: Everyone's had at least a few times when they snuck their own snacks into a movie theater and avoided those insane concession prices. That said, most folks will at least understand that their corn needs to be popped first before they bring it into the theater.
After all, the people who work there do not get paid enough to have to scoop half-eaten wet corn out of a cup holder. Someone once brought a bucket of KFC into a screening of Chicken Little, and they didn't even have this kind of audacity.
How badly do people have to hate themselves to own this?
Unless it's some elaborate excuse for introverts to cancel the plans they no longer feel like attending, it's pretty much impossible to see the point of a shirt like this. After all, most people would prefer to dress themselves without having to complete a puzzle every time.
Seriously, how long would it even take to button this shirt up? Even if people took bets on that, it's hard to imagine them being able to maintain their interest while watching somebody struggle to button up this labyrinthine nightmare for an hour.
It could have been the perfect crime
As Reddit user footeperu explained, he and his wife found her toilet the day before they uploaded this photo. While the understandably immediate assumption would have suggested that one of their children did this, that doesn't necessarily mean it was over for the culprit. After all, they have three children.
So, if all of them insist they're innocent, it usually makes it hard to figure out who was really responsible. That is, unless they took a selfie while they did it and the phone turns out salvageable enough to carry evidence of the responsible party when they look through the photos. If only real crimes were always this easy to solve.
Don't believe the hype
When it comes to Tesla's Cybertruck, there seem to be two kinds of people in the world. There are those who saw it as an embarrassing folly from the very beginning and those who believed they were looking at the future.
Unfortunately, photos like this show that the second group is a little too ready to believe the company's marketing department. If this thing gets stuck on a beach, it's not crossing any deserts without similar problems.
As if the theft wasn't bad enough
Every now and then, someone has to step out to their car, only to confront the unfortunate reality that someone else has stolen their wheels. Most of the time, they put the car up on cinder blocks to make the extraction easier and then just leave the blocks behind when they're done.
Sadly, whoever owns this car didn't even get to deal with a thief who was that competent. They seemed to think a milk crate would do the same job, but it's clear they turned to a life of crime after they failed physics class because this result should have been obvious. Even other thieves would cluck with disapproval at what they did to this poor driver's side skirt.
Uh oh, it's not hard to tell what happened here
Since it's abundantly clear that somebody needed to be told this, it's worth noting that some phone scammers will try to convince people they'll either be arrested or lose a bunch of money if they don't send over several thousand dollars worth of Apple or Amazon gift cards.
While it may sound obvious that no legitimate organization would ever ask for this, panic has a way of burying such suspicions until it's too late, and some people are great at stoking it. Still, it's unfortunate because a quick Google search would have told them everything they needed to know and saved them a bundle.
This isn't giving anyone their money's worth
This looks like a pretty shoddy pressure washing job, but there's a content to this that makes it seem particularly galling. Reddit user Canonconstructor said their landlord recently increased the monthly rent by $200 and justified it by promising building upgrades.
Soon after, this was the caliber of the pressure washing they were treated to. Anyone who expects an extra $200 a month from all of their tenants better put their back into it, and that's not what happened here.
By the time she saw it, it was too late
Situations like this are always rough to deal with, but at least in this case, they seem to come with a hard-learned lesson. As Reddit user SamuriGimli explained, she stepped on a blackberry before walking into her apartment. As a result, this isn't the only stain she tracked into the place.
Although she was concerned that this would cost her the security deposit, commenters suggested that OxiClean or hydrogen peroxide should get that right out. Although she wasn't aware she had stepped on the berry, she acknowledged that she shouldn't have walked on her carpet with her shoes on.
Somebody got a little bit confused
Considering how many packages of salmon there are here, it's hard to imagine somebody stocking this entire shelf without ever noticing the big sign behind it. They may very well be fresh, but they're certainly not pork chops.
At the same time, it's also possible that they got most of the way through their job before they noticed what they were doing. Let's not pretend that the temptation to just leave it after going through all that work wouldn't be powerful.
It's not as easy as it looks in the movies
Unless this cab driver just got out of an arcade with a Crazy Taxi machine, it seems like they were really hoping to get a big tip from their fare by taking a shortcut. However, their creativity didn't quite pay off.
Sure, the stunt drivers who work in action movies can make cities look like their personal playgrounds, but they're on sets that were built for their cars. Sadly, this photo is a good reminder that real-life stairs aren't built for movie magic.
How has this person not already crashed a bunch of times?
After going through a daily routine for long enough, it can be pretty easy for a car to fill with junk before the driver realizes it. That said, there are still limits on how much grace one can give someone like that before they become dangerous.
After all, if the trash is piling up so high that other drivers can see it at a glance, it's only creating a bigger and bigger blind spot. And this person can obviously forget about having passengers.
At least the next attempt has to be better than this
It's certainly hard to recognize this as such, but this mass of flat dough was supposed to go into multiple cookies. Reddit user AnnieApple_ felt bad for her mom and felt it was sweet of her to work hard on baking this, but it obviously wasn't the desired result.
As for what actually happened here, there are a few theories. The uploader believes her mom mistook baking powder for baking soda, while others think she didn't chill the dough beforehand or added too much butter. Maybe they'll find out next time.
This wasn't quite the perfect cast
According to Reddit user Professional_Dog425, his fishing trip with his friend had already started out rough with high winds, no bites, and a lot of snags. This led the friend to try out his new fishing rod and these were the results.
Whether he got frustrated enough not to check his strength or he simply wasn't used to the weight of this pole, his cast ended up flinging it into the trees. It seems unlikely that there was much more fishing after they got it down, assuming it's not still there.
These pants aren't supposed to look like this
If these seem like some weirdly funky pants, rest assured that their owner feels the same way. As Reddit user MelArlo told it, his wife washed his brand-new jeans so he could wear them that day but forgot to remove a big, fuzzy blanket from the wash.
As a result, the pants are now so covered in that blanket's material that it looks like they were designed that way. Somebody's got a long night with a lint roller ahead of them.
They don't seem like they're doing a very good job
At first glance, it may be a little hard to tell what the problem is. Sure, these cars have to get through a muddy dirt road here, but that's true in a lot of parts of the world. It's not like this is right outside the Department of Roads, right?
Well, the sign in the back reveals that's exactly where the photo was taken. Hopefully, they're having a pretty urgent meeting about that inside right now because it's not exactly an encouraging sign of their effectiveness.
Are they really sure they want to put the garden there?
Reddit user yatoo2 described this as their first vegetable garden, and frankly, that explains a lot. And if they were wondering why it was so hard for things to grow in it, it seems the circumstances behind this photo filled in the blanks.
Maybe this location made sense when they started it, but the Earth doesn't let the Sun's rays stay in one place for long. The closer a garden is to a house, the more likely that house is to overshadow it completely. Good luck growing anything when that happens!
